HOME WATER
SYSTEMS
There are several options for bringing water into your home from a
well water source.
Jet Pumps are typically used to move water from a water source
such as a well or cistern, into your home. There are two types of jet
pumps: shallow well jet pumps which are used when the depth
to water is 25' or less, and deep well pumps which are used
when the depth to water is greater than 25'. Most deep well
pumps are convertible – which means that by using the proper jet
package (sold separately) the pump can be used either in a
shallow well application or a deep well application. A jet package
is required for proper operation of a deep well pump.
Consider the depth to water, and horsepower needed for optimal
performance to choose the right pump for your home.
4" Submersible Well Pumps are typically used with deep wells
(depth to water greater than 25') to move water into your home.
4" Submersible pumps may be preferred over deep well jet pumps,
as they can provide more efcient water delivery than jet pumps.
When choosing a 4" submersible pump consider the horsepower
you need – the greater the depth to water, the higher the
horsepower required for proper pump operation – and whether you
need built-in or external motor controls.
Pressure Tanks store water for a residential water system. The
increased water storage capacity extends the life of your pump by
reducing the number of times your pumps must cycle to supply
water to the home. Vertical tanks are ideal for applications
requiring a small footprint, whereas a horizontal tank is ideal for
applications with height restrictions. Simer tanks are factory
pre-charged at 40 PSI.
Sprinkler pumps are typically used to move water from a water
source to a system that moves water to various locations such as a
sprinkler system. Sprinkler pumps should be used with a water
source with a depth to water of 25’ or less.
When choosing a sprinkler pump consider the horsepower you
need – which is determined by considering the depth to the
water source and the capacity required at 30 PSI (optimal
performance level for an in-ground system).
